Print visa photos on a 4 × 6 sheet
Photos are processed in your browser. They are never uploaded to any server.
Choose the exact document preset, prepare and inspect one photo, then download the tool's 4 × 6 inch JPG sheet. Ask the printer or photo shop for actual size, without fit-to-page or borderless enlargement. Before cutting all copies, measure one printed photo with a ruler. The 4 × 6 sheet is only the carrier; the required size belongs to each individual photo.
Do not confuse paper size with photo size
A 4 × 6 inch sheet can hold several copies, but it does not make each copy 4 × 6 inches. For example, the U.S. Department of State photo guidance uses a 2 × 2 inch (51 × 51 mm, rounded) individual photo where a physical visa photo is requested. Visa Photo Prep places six of its 2 × 2 inch U.S. copies on one landscape 6 × 4 inch sheet. This count and layout are properties of this tool, not a government printing rule.
Other receiving offices can specify different physical sizes, and some applications require only a digital upload. Read the official source linked beside your selected preset. The United Kingdom digital-only preset in this tool does not offer a print sheet because its linked route does not state a physical photo size.
Prepare the master photo first
Upload one original image, choose the correct preset and adjust the crop. Use the manual head markers where the preset gives a numerical head range. Check the background, lighting, expression, visible eyes and sharpness yourself. If the original needs a different background or shows a shadow, retake it; the tool does not replace the background. Create the downloads only after you have inspected the preview and checked the manual confirmation box.
Download the single-photo JPG as well as the sheet. Keep the single image as a reference: every copy on the sheet comes from that same crop. If the master is wrong, repeating it on paper will only repeat the error.
What the sheet file contains
The tool creates a landscape 1800 × 1200 pixel JPEG with 300 ppi metadata, corresponding to 6 × 4 inches at that print setting. It arranges as many complete, identical copies as fit at the chosen preset's paper dimensions. It centers the grid and leaves any unused area white. It does not stretch the photo to fill the sheet, add cut marks, or add a border. The pixel density and sheet layout are export choices made by this tool; they are not universal visa-office requirements.
For the U.S. preset, each copy is 600 × 600 pixels. At 300 pixels per inch, 600 ÷ 300 = 2 inches per side. The exact physical output still depends on the printer honoring the requested scale.
Order or print at actual size
- Send the downloaded sheet JPG to a photo printer that accepts a 4 × 6 inch image. Keep the original file; do not paste a screenshot into a document or resave it through a messaging app.
- Select 4 × 6 inch paper and actual-size or 100% scaling. Turn off fit-to-page, auto-crop and borderless enlargement. Some print services change these settings automatically, so ask before ordering if the options are unclear.
- Inspect the print before cutting. Use a ruler to measure one full photo from edge to edge in both directions and compare it with the selected preset's stated physical size. Also inspect the face for cropping, color shifts, blur and unexpected borders.
- If the measured size is wrong, correct the print scale or use another service. Do not trim the photo until it is smaller than the required dimensions to make it appear right.
For a digital U.S. visa upload, start with the U.S. phone-photo guide and use the single JPG. Print a sheet only when the application route or receiving office calls for a physical photograph.
