About Visa Photo Prep

Photos are processed in your browser. They are never uploaded to any server.

Visa Photo Prep is an independent site offering a browser-based tool for cropping and sizing one photo at a time. It is operated under the site name Visa Photo Prep, not on behalf of a government or visa office.

The tool provides document-specific presets and links to the issuing authorities' requirements. You choose the preset, adjust the crop, check the photograph yourself, and download a JPG. Where a paper size is specified, the tool can also arrange copies on a 4 × 6 inch print sheet.

The tool does not automatically verify background, expression, lighting, shadows, age of the photograph or every application requirement. Read the linked official instructions for your application route before submitting a photo.

How we check photo requirements

Each document preset links to the issuing authority or receiving office whose instructions it follows. A country name alone may cover several application routes, so the guides state which route a size or file rule applies to. Check the linked authority again before submitting: its current instructions take precedence over this site.

We distinguish a stated requirement from a tool setting. For example, when a source specifies a paper size without a pixel count, the tool's 300 ppi print export is a conversion choice, not an official digital upload rule. The guides show the calculation and flag where a print service can change the physical result.

Found an outdated source, a broken link or a mistake in a guide? Tell us which page and application route you used. Please do not send your photograph or identity documents.

How these guides are prepared

Visa Photo Prep uses AI assistance to research and prepare explanatory guides. Official requirements are linked in each guide; examples, calculations and tool settings are identified separately. We do not present an automated file check as approval by an embassy or consulate.

The source-review date shown in a guide records when its requirements were checked. A navigation or layout change does not by itself mean those requirements were checked again. No invented reviewer credentials or applicant experiences are used.
