VISA PHOTO PREPARATION

Taiwan visa photos: two 2 × 2 inch prints for the BOCA checklist

Prepared by Visa Photo Prep. Independent preparation guidance.

BOCA’s visa-document FAQ asks for two color photographs measuring 2 × 2 inches, taken within six months, on an off-white background. It also describes completing the visa form online, then printing and signing it. An online form does not automatically mean a digital-photo-only application.

Check the route before ordering photographs

The cited FAQ is for a visa application to enter Taiwan. Read the current instructions from the office receiving your application as well, especially if your visa category or submission route has a separate checklist.

This guide does not set photo-upload specifications for every eVisa or other online service. If a portal asks for a digital photo, use the fields and instructions for that portal rather than deriving them from the paper-photo FAQ.

Prepare the prints the checklist actually names

  1. Check the photograph's capture date against the six-month requirement.
  2. Use a suitable color original with the specified background.
  3. Order two prints at the finished size of 2 × 2 inches.
  4. Measure both cut photographs and inspect their clarity.
  5. Keep them with the printed, signed application and the other required documents.

Two inches equals 50.8 mm by conversion. A print shop's word “passport” is not a measurement. State the document, intended dimensions and number of photographs so a different country's standard is not substituted.

Why a square digital file is not the whole answer

A 600 × 600 JPEG is square, but its printed size depends on how the printer scales it. The BOCA FAQ's paper dimensions do not by themselves establish a 600-pixel upload requirement, a 240 kB cap or a particular head-height percentage.

Do not copy those technical numbers from a U.S. guide merely because both workflows mention square prints. Physical dimensions, digital dimensions and composition are separate instructions.

The application form belongs to the paperwork workflow. The identification photographs belong to the photo workflow. Printing a portrait on the same ordinary page as the form is not a substitute for preparing the requested photographs.

When uncertain about attachment instructions, check the receiving office's checklist rather than guessing where to staple or paste a picture. The cited general FAQ does not answer every office-specific handling question.

A final desk check

Lay out the signed application, the two photographs and the receiving office's document list. Confirm that the photos match each other, depict your current appearance and have the requested physical size. Keep the original file in case a print needs replacing.

Visa Photo Prep does not have a dedicated Taiwan visa preset. Its U.S. preset should not be described as a Taiwan compliance check. Use the print-scaling explanation as a practical aid, and use BOCA and the receiving office for the applicable rules.
